We leave from Marree and travel past Lake Eyre South – Kati Thanda National Park, to William Creek near Anna Creek Station, the largest cattle station in the world at just over 6 million acres.

We travel up the Oodnadatta Track past Dalhousie Springs where we can swim in the thermal water, and then go on to Mount Dare and further to where we enjoy a stop-over at Molly Clark's Old Andado Homestead.

We visit Mac Clark’s Conservation Reserve and explore the Acacia Peuce trees, commonly known as the Waddywood tree which was used to make the waddy waddy for Aboriginal hunting, and which are found only in two other places in the world.

Next, we head up Binn’s Track to Alice Springs and East along the Plenty Highway to the start of the Hay River Track.  After stopping at Batton Hill we spend several nights camping on this remote track.

Things to see on the Hay River Track include camels, wildflowers, and majestic river gums. In the past this part of the Northern Simpson was closed to the public. The aboriginal custodians now welcome us to their land, and we might even learn how to find bush tucker.

Finally, we head to Poeppel Corner, marked up in 1880 during a survey of the Western section of the border between Queensland and South Australia, and across the QAA Line towards Birdsville. We stop at Big Red and take in the spectacular views over the mighty Simpson Desert, the biggest parallel dune desert in the world, then on to enjoy what Birdsville has to offer, including a beer in the famous Birdsville Pub.

After these wonderful adventures we head South down the Birdsville Track past Mungerannie and back to Marree.
